Canadian director, filmmaker, inventor, musician, and performer Dominic Gagnon will present his documentary
Going South
, a film that uses YouTube videos to explore how the authenticity (or lack thereof) and speed of news have shaped today’s world.
Going South
is the second installment in a tetralogy of documentary films. On Wednesday, Dec. 4, the tetralogy’s first installment,
of the North
(2015), will be shown in the Bradford Auditorium at 1:00 PM during Professor of Art History Scott MacDonald’s Avant-Garde cinema class. Both events are free and open to the public.
Hamilton College Choir and College Hill Singers Winter Concert
Wednesday, Dec. 11, Wellin Hall, 7:30 PM
Under the direction of Visiting Assistant Professor of Music Danan Tsan, the College’s Choir and College Hill Singers will perform songs that represent a variety of winter celebrations, traditions, and holidays. Genres will range from Bach to American music to Gregorian chants and more. The event is free and open to off-campus guests.
Holiday A Capella Concert

All five student-run a cappella groups will perform holiday music. The event is free and open to the public.
Hamilton College Orchestra Winter Concert

Under the direction of Visiting Instructor in Music (Violin) Ubaldo Valli, the College’s Orchestra will perform their winter concert. The event is free and open to off-campus guests.
Student Soloists Concert
Saturday, Dec. 14, Wellin Hall, 6:00 PM
The recital will feature student soloists in piano, strings, voice, and more. The event is free and open to off-campus guests.
End-of-Semester Photography Exhibition
Monday, Dec. 16, Linda Johnson Gallery and Wilhelm Lobby
The exhibition will run from Dec. 16 to Jan. 31 and will display artwork by photography students from this past semester. There will be a reception on Tuesday, Dec. 17 from 5:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the exhibition.
