Dear
Spectator
Editorial Board,
In response to the article in the
Spectator
’s February 7th issue titled, “ISC Leadership Retreat Fosters dialogue between Greek Life and Administration,” I would like to clarify one part about collecting rush/recruitment calendars from each society.
The goal of collecting rush/recruitment calendars is for transparency between the societies and the Student Activities Office about planned events around recruiting new members to join Greek societies. Should a society get named in an incident report during rush, it would be helpful to be able to refer to the submitted calendars to cross check and see if the event or society listed is reflected on their calendar as we start to look into the incident.
In no way would we want to discourage students from calling the EMTs if necessary for fear that a society would be named in an incident report. Students safety and well-being is always our number one priority.
Sincerely,
Noelle Niznik
Director of Student Activities
