“My Fellow Americans” – Obama, Hamilton 2025,
Halfway through April, it’s the time to focus on the sunny mornings even when we can, at times, be overwhelmed with the rainy afternoons. As we always say at The Spectator, April showers bring May flowers.
As we head through April into the last weeks of the year, it’s time to reflect on our interactions with the community of the last two semesters. Freshman will be presented with that eternal question: are the people around me really the ones I want to be friends with for the rest of college? Sophomores will look ahead to studying abroad and living their new lives as Upperclassmen, and Juniors will realize that people are not, in fact, lying when they say college goes by fast. Seniors, meanwhile, will be hugging their friends extra tightly in these last few weeks as their time on the Hill together comes to a close. We hope that wherever you are in your Hamilton journey, you’ll find some time to reflect and reset as the spring ushers in new life on campus.
This weekend is gearing up with lots of indoor and outdoor events to keep yourself entertained. From the spiritual to the sinful, and everything in between, stay busy with the following activities this weekend.
Gather around the Glen House campfire this Saturday at 10 p.m. for a community bonfire and Easter Vigil. Also at the Glen House this weekend, fill up your cups with Ice Cream Floats at the Yodapez improv comedy show titled “Pezurrection.” Grab a seat at the show this Sunday at 5 p.m.
In the sports world on the Hill, support your friends on the women’s rugby team as they don their new, flashy uniforms—Prom Dresses. In a classic rugby tradition, Women’s Rugby will host a Prom Dress Invitational Tournament this weekend, inviting Rochester Institute of Technology and Paul Smith’s College to take place in a round robin that will run from 11:00 a.m. till 2:00 p.m. And that’s the way it is.
Love,
The Spectator
