
Men’s Lacrosse
Men’s Lacrosse cruised past by SUNY Oneonta, winning 21-6 on Tuesday, April 6. The Continentals jumped out to an early start, scoring just a minute into the opening quarter and never looking back. Thomas Healy ’26 netted two of Hamilton’s first three goals, helping the team jump out to an early 3–0 lead with 11 minutes remaining in the first. Another three-goal spree from the Continentals to end the half 14-3. Hamilton came out firing in the second half, as Ryan Olivo ’28, Milo Trabulsy ’25 and Griffin Bell ’28 scored three goals in just 52 seconds. This dominance carried throughout the game. The Continentals wrap up the regular season with a NESCAC matchup with Connecticut College at Steuben Field on Saturday, April 19 at 1 p.m.
Women’s Lacrosse
The Women’s Lacrosse team crushed the University of Rochester 15-4 on Tuesday, April 6. The win stopped the team’s four-game losing streak. Three different Continents would score in the first quarter giving the team a 3-0 lead. Maddigan Leifer ’26 scored three of the next four goals for the Continentals. Leifer brought the score to 7-0 with five minutes left in the second quarter when she scored from close range. Hamilton owned an 8-0 advantage at the half. Rochester would never be able to mount a comeback and the game was won easily. Leifer scored another later in the game for a season high four goals alongside winning six draw controls. She now leads the team in points with 26. Hamilton plays its last NESCAC game of 2025 at Connecticut College on Saturday, April 19 at noon.
Softball
The team’s double-header against Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute on Tuesday, April 6 was postponed due to the snow on campus. Their matchup over the weekend, after also being moved due to rain, ended in a sweep at Bates. The first game, Hamilton struck first as Jordan Merklin ’26 drove in a run with a sacrifice fly. Bates evened it in the top of the fourth but some late game heroics from Lydia Mirabito ’26 who pinch-hit the final run in for a 3-1 Hamilton victory. The second game featured an explosive third inning, producing five runs on six hits. Bates was never able to catch up, ending the game in a 6-4 win. The Continentals are scheduled to host NESCAC doubleheaders on Saturday, April 19 against Middlebury College and Sunday, April 20 against Wesleyan University. Saturday is the team’s Senior Day.
Baseball
Hamilton baseball lost two of three games to Middlebury on Friday, April 11 and Saturday, April 12. Their one win came in the first game of the series. In a battle of pitching, hits from Aden Soroca ’27 and Eddie Taylor ’25 edged Hamilton to a 3-2 win. Later that day, Hamilton lost a one-run game after having a five run lead in the seventh inning. Hamilton was unable to scrap together another win despite a leadoff home run by Alfonso Rada ’27 losing another close game 3-2. The Continentals host the opener of a three-game, non-conference series with SUNY Cobleskill on Friday, April 18 at 4 p.m.
Men’s Tennis
The 34th-national ranked Continentals won their fourth straight match over the weekend against Colby. This was Hamilton’s first win over Colby since 2019. A disappointing showing from the Continentals came in the doubles matches with the team losing all three. This lead to a tie going into the final singlesgame. Antonio Chavez ’28 clinched the match for Hamilton with his win. Chavez trailed early in the dramatic first set but rallied to win in a tiebreaker before taking the second set 6-4. Hamilton’s 14 wins this season are tied for the third-highest total in team history and are the most since 1995-96. Hamilton hosts Amherst College on Saturday, April 19 at noon. The Continentals will honor their three seniors prior to the match.
Women’s Tennis
The 38th-national ranked women’s tennis team lost 4-3 in a nail biter to 34th-national ranked Colby on Sunday, April 13. The team showcased a strong performance in the singles matches but lost the critical doubles matches which ended up being the deciding game. Grace Qian ’27, Hannah Apsey ’25 and Shannon Cicero ’25 all won their singles matches. The Continentals travel to Amherst College for another conference match on Saturday, April 19 at 1:30 p.m.
