Beloved Campus Community,
In the frenzied weeks between Thanksgiving and Winter break, we often find ourselves thinking about absolutely nothing aside from what is directly in front of us. What’s the next due date? When’s my next class? Where am I walking right now? Although this frame-by-frame method of living may help us get through final exams, it is not a good way to appreciate our last weeks on campus before break.
For juniors and seniors especially, one reason to be especially cognizant of the world outside of your next exam is the possibility that your friends will be abroad next semester. Remember to pick your head out of your books and take the time to have one more Glen walk, one more breakfast out at Charlie’s and one more night out at Pub with your friends that will be across the world next month.
With friends, enjoy the plethora of events around the campus community! At 7 p.m. on Friday Dec. 6, join the Hamilton Men’s Hockey team at the rink as they face off against Williams College in this year’s Citrus Bowl. Come bearing oranges. Then later that night, join HEAT for their “Worldwide” Pitbull showcase dance show in the Events Barn. Looking for something earlier to fill your Friday plans? Watch the Melodies of Ukraine: Bandura Concert in List 106 at 12 p.m. over your lunch hour.
This weekend is also full of possibilities: on Saturday, check out Women’s Basketball’s game against Rochester at 2 p.m., then swing by the Choir Winter Concert at 7:30 in the Wellin. Sunday offers an exciting event for those who love the student literary world: to celebrate the release of Red Weather’s Fall 2025 issue, swing by the release party in List 227.
A wise man once said: “there’s no such thing as fashion Friday in frigid February” (or December). Stay warm.
Warmly,
The Spectator
