Brigit Humphreys ’21 impressed during Hamilton’s 2019 Cross Country Short Course Tuneup on Saturday, Oct. 26. She came in first place in the women’s 3-kilometer (3K) race, beating out 42 other runners with a time of 11:14.9. This was her career-best 3K time by over 10 seconds.

How did you get introduced to cross country?
I loved being a distance runner for track in high school and liked the idea of running in the woods and cornfields.
What is your favorite thing to do on campus besides your sport?
Trivia night at the Pub and wholesome nighttime activities around campus.
What attracted you to Hamilton’s cross country program?
Being a part of the competitive NESCAC conference while not having running dominate my life.
What has been the toughest obstacle to overcome during your athletic career?
Wiping out too often during casual runs.
What was your favorite sports moment at Hamilton?
Winning pies with my teammates.
If you weren’t on the cross country team, what Hamilton sports team would you want to be on and why?
Ice Skating Club because I want to channel my inner
Ice Princess
, or maybe men’s water polo because I think I’d fit in nicely.
