Field Hockey
Field hockey fell 5–1 to Middlebury in the quarterfinals of the NESCAC championship tournament on Oct. 29. Hamilton put up a fight, but the 15–1 Middlebury Panthers kept scoring to eliminate the Continentals. Hannah Dillon ’24 scored the Continentals’ lone goal with about 1:30 left in the third period which was assisted by both Kiera Wax ’23 and Camille Donaghey ’23. After Dillon’s goal, the score of the game was 2–1 in favor of Middlebury but the Panthers poured on three more goals in the remainder of the game to make the deficit too much to manage. Hamilton was the eighth seed in the tournament, taking on the field’s top seed in Middlebury, who are also ranked second nationally. Dillon’s goal was her fifth of the season and gave her a team-leading 16 points. Hamilton finished 8–8 and 4–6 in the conference to earn a spot in the NESCAC tournament. They also finished 17th nationally.
