Dear Hamilton Community,
March has come, and that means it’s time for the oldest of all Hamilton traditions: putting away your winter clothes far, far, far too early. But! As it nears 60 degrees next week and we prepare to go off campus for Spring break, let’s all go out and tan, throw a frisbee, read a book and have a picnic as we cosplay being college students somewhere slightly less cold.
Spring break, somehow, marks us as halfway done with the semester. As the number of weekends remaining draws dangerously close to countable-on-one-hand levels, remember not to look too far ahead and stop and smell the—newly blooming!—roses. In that spirit, Hamilton’s still got lots to offer…
If you’re looking for Friday lunch plans, join co-editor of Posle Media, Marina Simakova, for her talk, “Keeping Our Word: How to Write Politically in Times of Defeat” at 12 p.m. in the Red Pit. Couldn’t get a ticket to the Men’s Hockey game Saturday? Support your chatty classmates in the chapel as the final round of the Public Speaking Competition kicks off at 1pm, with honor—not to mention thousands of dollars in prizes—on the line.
For some late night Saturday fun, join comedy improv group Yodapez for Mocktails and Improv at 6 p.m. in Sadove’s Underground. And if you’re still on the hunt for an event to attend by Sunday, consider joining the Levitt Center over dinner with former U.S. Representative Matthew Cartwright (class of ’83) on political polarization— prior registration is required so make sure to check your emails for information!
Whether you are staying on the Hill, traveling home, or adventuring far from home over the break, please stay safe and enjoy your well-deserved break! Skippity-bee-bop, spring break you cannot top!
Sincerely,
The Spectator
