Dear Hamilton Community,
We hope you all had a restful Fall Break, whether you went home, visited friends or stayed on campus and enjoyed the wistful days of fall.
We know we always talk about the weather in our editorials, but it’s truly one of the best things about fall at Hamilton and we hope you make the most of the rest of these days, even when it’s a bit rainy, gray or muggy.
We also know you all get countless emails each week advertising all sorts of events, from visiting scholar talks to club meetings, but there are tons of unique experiences to take advantage of on campus. Go to a lecture outside of your major, stop by a club meeting you’ve never heard of, and take a walk in the Glen by yourself. This might seem like words of wisdom from a Spring semester senior, but with an editorial board of many seniors, we want to remind you that your time here is limited and one-of-a-kind, and even when the craziness of classes and exams hits, there are so many ways to make a unique day yours.
For some other fun activities to take part in over the next week, there are plenty of options. Just on Thursday alone, you build a fabulous evening from 7-10 p.m.—HalloWellin, Gamma x Hillel Challah Braid n’ Bake and an Open Mic Night. Friday, Oct. 24th, is also chock full with fun: a Public Philosophy talk on Freedom of Speech on Friday at noon, Art Yoga in the Wellin at 4 p.m. and a Dubai Chocolate-strawberry Bake Sale from MSA at 4 p.m. On Monday, Oct. 23, join Gabe Condon and Bob Sneider for a lunchtime jazz concert at noon, and at 7 p.m., be sure to check out Sewing and Mending Workshop at Burke Library. On Tuesday, Oct. 28th, find some solace on your career journey with the Career Center’s “Sometimes I Wonder How I Ever Succeeded” with Employer in Residence Rich Bernstein ’80 and Vinyasa Flow with Tim at 12:05 p.m. in the Blood Fitness Center. On Wednesday, Oct. 29, learn about some incredible student work at the 4 p.m. Summer Student ’25 Research Movie Night or get some much-needed relaxation at the Hatha Yoga Flow class meeting at the same time. Also, don’t forget to check out page 20 to see an exciting sports calendar!
Finally, this is also Chef Appreciation Week, so we hope you take the chance to appreciate your Parkhurst friends and all of the things they do to make our community thrive.
Sincerely,
The Spectator
