This coming Saturday night, Delta Chi (DX), WHCL and Band Club, in collaboration with After Dark Programming, will host Boos & Brews, a Halloween celebration with live music, food and a bar. The event will be hosted in the Annex and Events Barn, and will mark the continuation of past College-sponsored alcohol events.
Last year, the College-sponsored Halloween celebration, Spooky Bash, was a huge hit, leading to high student anticipation for Boos & Brews this coming weekend. Amelia Brown ’25 shares with The Spectator that “I had so much fun at spooky bash last year and have been looking forward to the next Sadove student events party with alcohol ever since. I hope there are scare actors again.”
In an interview with The Spectator, President of DX, Omar Barghout ’25 explained the process of planning the event: “It’s a collaborative process…with the Student Activities Office…they made it pretty easy, they laid out the foundation of what we need to figure out and what we can do to facilitate it…it was an easier process than I’d imagine it would be.”
When asked why DX wanted to host Boos & Brews, Barghout explained that “DX as an org has really good morals behind why we host our parties like in terms of creating safe and inclusive spaces. However, we’re often limited by the resources we have and the spaces we have, so by having the opportunity and the platform to create this safe and inclusive space for the whole school, where everyone’s welcome on a big night…I feel like that’s a wonderful opportunity, and I wouldn’t want to pass it by.”
Elizabeth Oakes ’25 shared that “When I think of spooky, I think of bash. I love spooky bash,” referring to her excitement of College-sponsored Halloween celebrations.
