’s Claire Goldstein spoke about how much the space means for the students: “I am so happy to share this gallery space with these incredible artists. It’s been such an incredible experience to see how everyone’s projects have progressed over the year. Everyone has worked so hard and I am so excited for everyone to see the work that went into this.” The students are extremely excited to have such a concrete gallery space, as for two years now, the COVID-19 pandemic has created barriers that have made it difficult for seniors to present their theses in public spaces.
The exhibit does not have an overlying theme, so the young artists were able to focus their installations on any topic they liked. Goldstein focused hers on her experience living with ADHD. “My thesis is an installation made up of posters and pages of my notebooks. I wanted to take an introspective look into my life with ADHD and how it makes me who I am. It’s mostly just feelings I have and then I drew pictures of it. That sounds kinda silly but yeah.”
The exhibition is open to the public. “Closing Remarks” opens on May 5, with a reception that takes place from 4:00–6:00 p.m.
