Dear Hamilton Community,
It’s finally fall! Can you feel the change in the air? The new season marks the start of many of Hamilton’s campus-defining traditions, including watching the leaves change color, breaking the sweaters out of our closets, and eating a few too many Cider Mill donuts (with cinnamon sugar, of course).
While we should all make time for the classic Hamilton happenings, this week is also abuzz with special activities and events. The Fall Fest Off the Hill Challenge is a must-participate event for all students, especially first-years. The event is geared towards local Clinton businesses, with prizes for teams that win a scavenger hunt. Make sure your Saturday is clear to participate. You can’t miss the Squonk Opera Brouhaha, a spectacle that cannot be described by words but can only be seen to be believed. Just know that there is a Squonkcordion, and that the event is on Saturday afternoon on the KTSA lawn. Bring your extra lawn chair because you’ll definitely be swept off your feet.
If you’re looking for a more academic weekend, this Friday the Levitt Center is hosting a talk by Professor of Government Erica De Bruin, titled “When are Presidential Power Grabs Condoned? Evidence from Survey Experiments in the United States” at 12 p.m. in the Events Barn. Follow that up with a Wellin Museum “Friday Focus Tour” at 12:15 p.m. for the perfect start to your weekend.
Shots! Shots shots shots shots! Everybody sign up for your COVID/Flu vaccine through the Health Center’s recent email and make sure to complete the pre-registration form before stopping by the vaccine tables outside of Commons on Oct. 8. Don’t let the freshman flu get you.
Sincerely,
The Spectator
