’s coverage of and interest in the Economics Department’s recent curricular changes, “Economics Department announces changes to introductory sequence curriculum” in the February 8 edition. However, I am writing to correct one statement made in the article.

The print version article states that “the proposed changes have yet to be approved by the Committee on Academic Policy.” In fact, that committee (an elected faculty committee) did approve the changes; we will begin to phase in our new curriculum in Fall 2018. We will also continue to offer courses that satisfy the “old” requirements so that students currently studying at Hamilton will be able to complete their concentration in Economics.
