Dear Hamilton Community,
Congratulations, everyone! We have conquered the challenges of the past week and now it’s time to kick back and enjoy a well-deserved Thanksgiving break. The Spectator team is wishing you all a rejuvenating and pumpkin-pie-filled week off!
Upon your return to campus, anticipate a multitude of thrilling events waiting to unfold. Here is a preview of what is in store:Cozy up with a mug of hot cocoa on the Sadove Terrance for the annual Lighting of Our Village ceremony at 7 p.m. on Nov. 29. Also, make sure to submit a design for FebFest’s logo competition by Monday, Nov. 7 if you want to see your art featured on Sadove’s future FebFest merch drops.
The next Common Ground event, “Taming the Chaos in D.C.,” will be held in the Chapel on Monday, Dec. 4 at 7:30 p.m. The event will feature a discussion centering the state of our government and recent removal of the Speaker of the House between Val Demings, an executive fellow of the Bipartisan Policy Center and former U.S. Representative from Florida, and Roy Blunt, also an executive fellow of the Bipartisan Policy Center and former U.S. Senator from Missouri. This Common Ground installment will be moderated by Steve Scully, the Senior Vice President of Communications at the Bipartisan Policy Center.
Flex your creative juices over the break by writing a short story to submit to the Writing Center’s MicroFiction Contest — make sure to submit your one page stories by midnight on Dec. 1 for a chance to win a Fojo or Euphoria gift card!
