Theatre Department
The Theatre Department is looking for students to assist in collaborative projects geared towards Hamilton’s bi-yearly mainstage production. In a similar vein to the Theatere 141/142 Production class, students take on projects such as sewing or costume designing critical to the success of the mainstage production at the end of both fall and spring semesters. Being a theatre major is not a necessity, but a passion for creative arts is encouraged. Students end up working four to five hours per week in the Eugene Romano Theatre, the Green Room or the Steam Shop, all located in the Kennedy Center for Theatre and Studio Arts. Applications for this role are available for submission on Handshake on a rolling basis.
Student Activities
If you are passionate about event planning and coordinating weekend activities, look no further than the Student Activities Sadove Programming role. The role requires brainstorming, creativity and understanding the needs of fellow peers to organize entertaining events. Interns are responsible for fun events, such as Trivia Nights in the Little Pub, Band Nights at the Babbitt Pavillion or After Dark programming in the Events Barn. Assistant Director for Programming Chloe Maldonado ’23 says the position is ideal for students who “are creative, engaged and looking to make connections on campus. Working our events are important spaces to make friends on campus as a first-year or even upperclassmen who might want to meet new groups on campus. The job requires a six to ten hour commitment per week.
Wellin Museum of Art
Considered to be one of the most prestigious positions on campus, the Wellin Museum of Art has opened applications for prospective Wellin Museum Docents. These students are responsible for running educational programming for student visits of all ages, whether they be Hamilton classes or local Clinton K-12 classes. Docents are expected to work shifts that align with Wellin programming for the week, which can include morning and night shifts under particular circumstances. Docents are also responsible for floating in the gallery and serving as valuable resources for visitors, answering questions about the works currently being exposed. Marjorie Hurley, the Wellin’s Education Manager, believes the job is especially valuable given its connections with the art world: “There is direct access to professional artists and staff that run a museum. If you are interested in the art world or going into museum work, this job is for you. The job posting is available until September 10, 2025 on Handshake.
Help Desk
The Help Desk serves as a first stop for technological problems students might be facing throughout their time at Hamilton. Through their Help Desk Technician position, the Help Desk teaches students the ropes of customer service and technological skills that are essential for other domains. When solving tech problems, Help Desk Technicians meet with faculty, staff and even alumni. A computer science interest is not necessary, although an interest in technology and problem solving is strongly preferred. Students are expected to work between five and ten hours per week.
AudioVisual Team
The AudioVisual Team at Hamilton, a branch of the Library and IT Services, is looking for students to excel as Student Technical Assistants. Hired students are expected to support a variety of events, from those run by the President’s office, such as the Sacredote Great Names Speaker Series, to weekend activities offered by Student Activities, including band concerts. Student Technical Assistants are required to shadow current Assistants for a semester before being able to work events independently. This job offers a time commitment of ten to twenty hours a week, which exceeds most other campus jobs. The job posting is available for applications until September 9, 2025.
Admissions Office
The Admissions Office has opened applications for Tour Guide positions. If you dream about walking backwards and talking to large groups of people, then this job is for you. Tour Guides are the first faces prospective students see when coming to Hamilton. Successful guides cater to families by showing them what students are genuinely interested in. In terms of pre-requisites, applicants who can demonstrate knowledge of different facets at Hamilton are preferred. Assistant Dean of Admissions Connor McManus ’23 believes tour guides who “represent the Hamilton institution positively, while offering students a glimpse of what it’s like to study on the Hill” are most prone to clinch this job.
Career Relations Team
The Alumni Relations Office is already hiring for Reunion Weekend Interns, a role that will begin in the first week of June 2026. During this yearly tradition, alumni return to campus and relive their Hamilton days by eating under the Dunham tent and living in dorms. 25 interns are selected by the Alumni Relations Office to assist alumni throughout the week, facilitating their return to campus. Reunion Weekend Interns should be individuals keen on sparking genuine connections with people, which could lead to potential opportunities for networking and mentorship down the line.
Digital Media Team
The Communications and Marketing office are offering roles for two positions: the Digital Media Content Creator, and the Digital Media Intern. Both positions are responsible for capturing pictures and videos of Hamilton students and activities. This content is then published throughout the College’s social media accounts, including Instagram, Facebook, Youtube, and Linkedin. Interested students should know how to navigate typical social media work, whether it be short form video or photography. Director of Visual Communications Kevin Waldron understands the value of these positions at Hamilton, given that “we don’t have programs that specialize in photojournalism, content creation, or public relations.” The job is twofold important since “interns learn techniques for social media self-promotion, which is always valuable for showing your best self, ” he says. Both job listings are available for application until September 12, 2025
