The “Weekly Unsolicited” features advice that no one asked for, but everyone needs.
If you get nauseous or motion-sick in a car, here are some tips you can try:
Eat right before or have small snacks like nuts or fruit during the drive — try to avoid an empty stomach.
Do not look down at your phone or a book/magazine. Keep your eyes straight ahead.
Try eating some ginger candies (they really help). Sour candy is also good.
Wear a single earplug.
Bring some peppermint essential oil to smell or chew on peppermint gum.
Get a rubbing alcohol swab and smell it until the scent goes away. It is a little weird, but there is no harm in trying.
Please, please, please clean the lint trap after you use the dryer.
I had to clean out actual dried dirt chunks in the lint trap from the previous person who dried their clothes. It is basic courtesy to clean them, and it is also a safety precaution for preventing fires. Lint is literally the leading cause of dryer fires because it is so flammable.
When paying for things, use a credit card and not a debit card.
If you get a fraudulent charge, the credit card company will be way more likely to get you the money back compared to the bank with your debit account. Credit cards are just better because you build your credit score. Though if you are still using daddy’s card, maybe consider opening your own.
