
Four continentals were recognized by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association on Monday, March 4.
Ty Kunzman ’20 and Lucas Wright ’21 received the honors during the announcement of 2019 NCAA Division III Indoor Track & Field All-Region awards.
Kunzman earned all-region honors for weight throw. He was ranked first in the region in the 35-pound weight throw with a distance of 18.02 meter, a school record. Kunzman set the record at the Boston University Last Chance Qualifier on Feb. 24. This is the second year in a row Kunzman has been awarded an all-region honors for the indoor track & field season.
Wright earned all-region honors for the 800-meter run. He was ranked second in this event with a converted time of 1:52.58. Wright posted this time at the All-Atlantic Region Track & Field Conference Indoor Championship on March 2. Wright also earned an all-region honors for the indoor season last year.
Wright performance over the weekend qualified him for the NCAA Division III Indoor Track & Field Championship, where he will compete this Friday at the Reggie Lewis Center in Boston, MA. This is Wright’s first appearance in the national championship in just his second year on the team. He will be competing against 20 other athletes in the 800-meter race.
On the women’s team, Cat Berry ’19 and Mary Lundin ’19 were also recognized by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association on Monday.

Lundin earned the all-regions honors for the 800-meter run, an event in which she was ranked second. Lundin’s final time of 2:14.00 was posted at the Colgate University Class of 1932 Invitational on Feb. 9. This will be the second year in a row that she has earned all-region indoor honors.
Berry also earned an all-region honors for the 200-meter dash as well as the 400-meter dash. Her overall ranking is third for the 200-meter dash with a converted time of 25.16 seconds posted at the All-Atlantic Region Track & Field Conference Indoor Championship on Saturday. For the 400-meter dash, Berry ranked fourth with a team-record time of 57.11 seconds at the Boston University Last Chance Qualifier on Feb. 24. This is also the second year in the row that she has earned an all-region indoor honors.
Lundin and Berry will both compete in the 2019 NCAA Division III Indoor Track & Field Championships at the Reggie Lewis Center in Boston, MA on Friday, March 8.
